About Me

Married to Kathy for 39yrs. We have 3 children and 3 grandchildren with another due end of Feb. 2013. We are both recently retired and I am currently looking for a tasty machine on to buy with some of my pension lump sum !!! I fancy all kinds of stuff - Vespa GTV/GTS ; BMW C1 ; Piaggio MP3 or maybe I'll get another Honda CN250L Helix like I had in the 90's. These are brilliant machines - not as perfect as some would have you believe but still fantastic.

I've had all kinds of PTWs, not just scooters, loads of bikes in fact, but sold the last of these recently as my taste in machinery has reverted to scooters. Where I started in fact, in 1966, with an ancient Triumph Tigress 250 !

Please note - I am NOT a born again. I have always had some kind of PTW, ever since I was 15.

March 2013.
Bought a CN250L ( the Helix ) which is immaculate and has only done 17500 miles despite being 23yrs old. I had a good blast on it and I had forgot just how good these scoots are. Smooth, bags of low-down grunt and very practical too.
The C1 is the 200 version and it's what they call a " Family Friend ". I think this refers to it's standard features such as a huge top-box, ABS, an alarm, an immobiliser, a sun-roof and heated grips. It needs a bit of work to make it really nice - stuff like a good clean, some paint, service and a new light switch although it does have 12 months tax and MOT.
